Serum (preferred) or plasma (lithium heparin only). EDTA plasma causes decreased results.

Red-top tube, gel-barrier tube, green-top (heparin) tube, or lavender-top (EDTA) tube.


Separate serum or plasma from cells within 45 minutes of collection.
