EXPECTED TURNAROUND TIME
(TAT is the interval starting when a specimen and order are received in the laboratory and ends with release of the test result.) In some cases, additional time should be allowed for additional confirmatory or additional reflex tests. Testing schedules may vary. In the event that reflex testing is performed TAT turnaround times can be extended.

Gold top tube (SST)
EDTA, citrate, fluoride/oxalate plasma and hemolyzed specimens are unacceptable.
SPECIMEN PROCESSING INSTRUCTIONS
Allow red top or SST to clot for 20-30 minutes. CRITICAL: Centrifuge specimen to separate serum/plasma from cells within 2 hours of collection. If using non-gel barrier tubes, aliquot 2.0 mL (minimum 1.0) serum/plasma into transport tube. Refrigerate.
